Winter Weather Siren Testing Announcement

The Johnson County Emergency Management Agencyopens in a new window, along with the County Fire Chiefs Association, instituted a new policy, effective immediately. When weather is 35 degrees or lower, the County’s Public Safety Communications Center will not set off the weather sirens for the weekly Friday 11am test. ERS Wireless has recommended not testing weather sirens in cold weather as ice can form in the siren and blow fuses. If you have any questions, please call the EMA office at (317) 346-4655. Thank you!
