The Clerk-Treasurer is the key official in the Indiana Municipal Government.
The Clerk Treasurer is the Chief Financial Officer for the municipal government. This person is responsible for the overall collection and disbursement of funds, and the administration of the accounting system. The Clerk-Treasurer may be called upon to break tie votes at Town Council Meetings.
The Town of Bargersville Clerk – Treasurer’s Office is dedicated to providing the best customer service possible to our Citizens. Our employees are here to answer any questions you may have regarding your utility bill, along with calls regarding questions and concerns our residents have pertaining to our day to day Town operations.
New Residents to our Town will come into our office or go online to start their Utility Service. The Clerk’s Office bills out over 20,000 Utility accounts each month. Automatic Draft (ACH) is offered to our Customers for payments for their utility bill. There is also a credit card option that is provided through the Town’s website.
Our Bookkeeping Staff processes all of our Monthly Vendor Checks and does payroll for the Town Employees.
Most meeting notices and agendas are provided from the Clerk – Treasurer’s Office, along with the documentation of our Town Council Minutes. All Ordinances and Resolutions are on file in the Clerk’s Office.
We assist our Legal Department with the filling of Liens as well as working with our customers in making payment plans acceptable to their financial needs regarding their Utility Bill.
