About the Center Grove Community School Corporation

The Center Grove Community School Corporation is located in White River Township, Johnson County, Indiana approximately 20 miles south of downtown Indianapolis. The district serves over 7,500 students in one high school, two middle school and six elementary schools. Center Grove continues to be one of the fastest growing districts in Indiana. Its superior schools are cited as a major reason for moving to the area.

The first educational facility for White River Township pupils was erected in 1882 at the site of the present high school. School buildings and additions have constantly been under construction or in the planning stages since 1962. Six new elementary school buildings and two middle schools have been built since 1965. Recently, several additions have been made to the high school and middle schools. Enrollment in the Center Grove Community School Corporation has grown rapidly since 1954, when the total number of students was approximately 1,000. Currently district student enrollment is approximately 7500.
