Indiana Department of Transportation personnel met with a Bargersville official and the town’s contractor at Seymour District offices yesterday (MARCH 13) for a $64,770 Local Public Agency (LPA) sign modernization project.
Michiana Contracting of Plymouth plans to have crews onsite at Bargersville in July. They will work long hours four days a week until 260 regulatory and informational signs have been replaced with new ones. Most posts will be replaced as well.
INDOT advises motorists to drive with caution where installation operations are occurring. At times, drivers will be flagged around worksites.
The Federal Highway Administration funds 90 percent of the LPA project cost. The Town of Bargersville is responsible for 10 percent.
INDOT administers FHWA monies and provides oversight to assure compliance with federal standards. Supervisory responsibilities have been contracted to Shrewsberry & Associates, an Indianapolis-based engineering consulting firm.
