Water Works

Bargersville Utilities currently serves approximately 9,844 customers in the Franklin, White River and Union Townships of Johnson County, Indiana.  The current design capacity is 7.5 MGD (Million Gallons per Day), has an average daily production of 2.0 MGD, and summer average of 6.0 MGD.  The Town is currently members of Alliance of Indiana Rural Water and Indiana Rural Water Association and you can visit their web sites by clicking on their names.

Key Information

·         No automatic yard sprinkler attachments are allowed within the water meter pit.  A second meter and/or pit will need to be installed, or a T installed to the domestic line between the house and outside the pit.

• The current water rates and charges are as follows:

    a)    For all customers not requiring water to service in ground lawn water sprinkling systems:

                Facility Charge

                    In addition to the metered use block rates, each user shall pay a monthly facility charge in accordance with the following applicable size of meter installed.

    b)    For all customers requiring water to service in ground law water sprinkling systems:

                Metered Rate per Month

                    All metered water supplied to customers served under this rate shall be billed monthly at the rate of $2.97 per 1,000 gallons.

                Facility Charge

                    In addition to the metered use rate, each user shall pay a monthly facility charge in accordance with the following applicable size of meter installed.

    c)    Public Fire Protection

                Public Hydrant - per hydrant - per annum                    $868.00

    d)    Private Fire protection

    e)    Public Fire Protection Surcharge Outside Town Limits

                A monthly surcharge of $10.53 shall be included for all water utility customers served water outside the Town limits.  This monthly charge shall be determined by taking the product of the applicable annual public hydrant rate provided above and multiplying by the number of hydrants in service outside the Town limits and dividing that amount by the annual number of customer bills provided water service outside the Town limits.  The annual charge in this rate is subject to approval of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC).

    f)    Temporary Users

                Water furnished to temporary users such as contractors, etc., shall be charged on the basis of the metered gallon rate hereinbefore set forth as estimated and established by the Waterworks Superintendent.
